If you already have hearing aids, they might be working well. Or your hearing might have changed since they were prescribed. They might also be old analog hearing aids that give you problems like whistling, buzzing, or boosting the volume of everything, including background noise.

If You Wear Analog Hearing Aids

Hearing aid technology has made major strides in the last few years, most notably through the development of digital hearing aids. Thanks to the miniaturization of circuitry, digital hearing aids now incorporate tiny computer chips designed to customize sounds for the wearer—making soft sounds louder, suppressing noise and focusing on speech to make it easier to hear.

Digital hearing aids solve many of the problems analog hearing aids could not, such as suppression of background noise and automatic cancellation of the annoying (and embarrassing) whistling sound that characterized analog hearing aids.

In a survey conducted by Consumer Reports in July 2009, 73% of hearing aid wearers pronounced themselves highly satisfied with digital hearing aids*.

If you are currently wearing analog hearing aids, talk to your hearing professional about updating to digital hearing aids. Digital hearing aids offer features that will make listening less tiring and more enjoyable.

If You Wear Digital Hearing Aids

If you are currently wearing digital hearing aids, you should have your hearing tested annually to ensure that your hearing aids are properly adjusted to your hearing loss. Digital hearing aids are updated frequently by manufacturers, so there may be new features that benefit your lifestyle and hearing need.

If You’d Like Less Obvious Hearing Aids

Hearing aid technology has not only become more advanced, it’s smaller and more discreet. Today’s hearing aids much less obvious, designed with colors that match your hair or skin tone better. And some are completely invisible in your ear canal. Read more about Invisible Hearing Aids>>
